This morning I drove to Fairbanks to take-in the start of the Yukon Quest. The Yukon Quest 1,000 Mile International Sled Dog Race covers 1,000
miles between Fairbanks, Alaska and Whitehorse, Yukon during
the depths of winter. The race start switches every-other-year so this year it started in Fairbanks. This year there are 23 teams. It was a balmy 18 degrees today after the start of the race. The dogs were eager to run and when hooked onto their pull lines they were straining to start.
Time for me to head home and get a bit warmer but it was a fun experience. - Nancy
