Montezuma Well was formed long ago by the collapse of a limestone cavern, over one million
gallons of water a day flows continuously into the Well. This constant
supply of warm, fresh water provides an aquatic habitat like no other in
the world, and has served as an oasis for wildlife and humans for
thousands of years.
Montezuma Castle National Monument protects a set of well-preserved cliff dwellings near the town of Camp Verde, Arizona, United States. The dwellings were built and used by the Sinagua people, a pre-Columbian culture closely related to the Hohokam and other indigenous peoples of the southwestern United States. - Nancy
