Rania & the Swimming Instructor!
In recent weeks Rania Woodward, just a month past her 4th birthday, has been an eager student in the "swim class" of Grandma Nancy! In fact, one might cautiously say that she's learned to swim! (which, in our current definition, means taking several strokes with her head under water, and even coming up for one or two breaths)
For some months Rania had insisted on wearing her water wings as she paddled happily around our pool here at Hampstead Rise. But, with a bit of persistence from Grandma Nancy, Rania began to look forward to her one-on-one swimming lessons and even insisted one day last week when she was at our place with Grandpa that she would wear her water wings that day because she wanted her swimming lesson only from Grandma! Rania takes great delight in now being able to jump into the pool and go under water before coming up for air. The whole process has been a lot of fun for two grandparents -- to say nothing of the delight that Doug and Tracy have taken in their daughter's accomplishments.
