The first Sunday of each month is free museum Sunday in all of Italy. The key is to go to sites that aren't on the normal tourist routes. It was a perfect weather day the first Sunday in February so after church I by bus and then metro to Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Antica, or National Gallery of Ancient Art. My question is what art in Rome is not ancient?The artwork is housed in the 17th-century Palazzo Barberini. The most interesting artwork was on the ceilings. - Nancy
