How to Celebrate a 40th Wedding Anniversary

Ron and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary today by hiking with Daniel, Eli and Micah at Silver Falls State Park. The boys enjoyed playing in the small "lake" just above South Falls. While I was being the "lifeguard" the other grandparents had a snooze. After returning to Keizer we went for a swim at our local pool. Daniel is swimming in the middle with Eli watching. Our anniversary dinner was macaroni and cheese. Then we ended the day with a DVD about a baseball team. Celebrating with family was a great way to spend our anniversary day. - Nancy

Enchanted Forest - Day 4

We've managed to make through four days with Micah, Eli and Daniel. The highlights of the Enchanted Forest were the log rdie for Eli (Daniel and Micah declined to go), train ride for Micah, bumper car for Daniel. But the trauma was when Grandpa left Daniel and Eli to go in the Haunted House alone and they came out in tears after leaving by an emergency exit.

Library Day

Wednesday was the day we went to the library. We got books and DVDs and the boys had fun in the Discovery Room. We also got in two trips to the swimming pool today but no pictures of that. - Nancy

Tuesday is Pizza Night

We kept the boys' tradition of Tuesday being pizza night. Then the men and boys watched the All-Star baseball game on TV, - Nancy

Picnic at the MAX Station

Since we didn't make it to the zoo we realized belatedly that we still needed to meet someone in order to give them hiking passes for Tasha. We figured the best place was to meet was at the Beaverton MAX station. Since we still needed to eat we had a unique picnic location for lunch. The boys like trains so we kept entertained while waiting. - Nancy

Plans change - Auntie Tasha's Car

After arriving in Portland on the Amtrak we planned to go to the zoo. But on the way to the zoo Auntie Tasha's car overheated so we skipped the zoo. Micah slept through the event while Daniel and Eli watched the steam rise from the car. A kind motorist helped us out and we headed home. The next day the car got a new radiator. -Nancy

Amtrak Day

Day two with the grandsons was the Amtrak trip from Salem to Portland. We had three very excited boys. Daniel held the tickets and then Grandma and the boys went on the train while Ron drove to Portland to get us. - Nancy

Great Grandparents to the Rescue

It sure is helpful to have extra help this week. Great-grandpa Levi joined in a a game of Go Fish while Great Grandma Ramona played Brain Quest with Daniel.

When Micah's little bike wouldn't work, Great Grandpa used his repair skills to fix it.

Gilbert House Outing

Our first day with Daniel, Eli and Micah was a trip to the Gilbert House Children's Museum in Salem. The bubble room is a big hit.

We enjoyed a picnic lunch. All the boys liked the model train, Daniel liked digging for the dinosaur bones, and Micah liked the toy train set. - Nancy

Sunday in Newberg - Seeing Great Grandma Woodward

Newberg Friends Church had their service on the lawn after which we headed to Friendsview Manor to have dinner with Great-Grandma Woodward who is now 103. - Nancy

Here are four generations of Woodwards -- ages 3 to 103.

A Full House

My Dad and his wife Ramona arrived on July 7, Mark, Marta and boys arrived on July 11 and Tasha even stayed one night so our condo has been full. - Nancy

Great Grandpa Levi got Daniel a bike that he is riding lots.
Tasha looks great among the roses.
All the family headed to our local swimming pool and had a great time.

Lunch and a Fancy Car

My friends Barbara and Margie treated me to lunch and I even got a ride in Barbara's fancy new car. - Nancy

Ungroup Gathering

It was a treat to have the "Ungroup" come for dinner and celebrate my birthday. I sure miss meeting with them every week. I was treated to one of LaDonna's "to die for" cakes. - Nancy
