Grand children lead busy lives

Reeve, Gabi, and Rania all participate in some of the many activities that ISKL has to offer. I got to hear Gabi sing in the ISKL elementary choir when it performed at one of the ISKL 50th anniversary events. On Saturday Reeve had a rugby game. He is a fearless rugby player and likes to be in the center of the action. - Nancy

ISKL 50th Gala and meeting with friends

ISKL had it's 50th Anniverary Gala. It was a week of events and time for me to reconnect with friends. Doug and Tracy looked great at the Gala Dinner. - Nancy

Library volunteer time

On Monday of this week I spent the day at the ISKL elementary library. I even got to do story-time for one kindergarten class. The next day on Tuesday I helped a friend of mine, Barb, organize the library at an school of refugee children in KL. It was a very good day and we managed to get the books sorted and a color code system so the children can find the books. There was quite the contrast between the resources in the two libraries. -Nancy

Birthday time -

I arrived in Kuala Lumpur to be with Rania on her 9th birthday on March 28. The family went out to TGIFriday's where they sang to her and gave her a desert with a candle in it. Then it was time for presents at home.

Reeve has his 13th birthday on April 8. He selected the menu for a family dinner and we had ravioli. He enjoyed getting gifts. Many family and friend had contributed pictures and remembrances for a Reeve Turning 13 Birthday Book. The family enjoyed looking at the book with him. Such good memories and also thoughts and advice for his teenage years. -Nancy

Bunny Cake

For many years I made a bunny cake for Easter. So this year I brought gluten free cake and frosting mix as well as gluten free jelly beans so Tracy could eat the cake along with the rest of the family. Gabi helped me mix the cake and both Gabi and Rania helped frost and decorate the cake. We all enjoyed eating the bunny. - Nancy

Easter Sunday

Today on Easter Sunday we went to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church where Ron and I worshiped for the six years that we lived in Malaysia. It was good to see some of our friends. Some of the hymns we sang were ones I had sung in the church I grew up attending in Iowa. It was good worship service.- Nancy

Last images from Gili Air Island, Indonesia

Doug and Tracy had two goals for this trip over the ISKL spring break. The first was that Gabi would get her certification for scuba diving. She completed the course so that was a success. The other goal was for Doug, Tracy, Reeve, and Gabi to all scuba dive together. This was also a success. Rania and I were great snorkeling partners while the rest of the family went scuba diving. - Nancy

Doug took lots of pictures while scuba diving. Rania and I saw all of these fish, coral and turtles looking down. The water was very clear with great visibility. - Nancy

Snorkeling above - Scuba below

On our last snorkeling and scuba trip Rania and I ended up above Doug, Reeve and Gabi. On all of our other trips we never saw them when snorkeling. So of course we took pictures of each other.
Here Rania and I are snorkeling and Doug took a picture from below.
