We ventured to the National Park along with Doug, Tracy and family and two other families that had been at EARCOS. We enjoyed the clear, cool mountain air and hiking. We had great weather with no rain. We even learned of a place where the world’s largest flower, the Rafflesia, was in bloom. This flower is a bulb that takes nine months to bloom and the flower then only lasts 7 days. We felt very fortunate to see it, and while a barrier prevented us from meansuring, we estimated the diameter of the flower somewhere between 18" and 2'. -- Nancy
One of the "adventures" up at the National Park was a day trip to Poring Hot Springs where we saw the rafflesia and also hiked up a steep path to "do" the canopy walk. Pictured below are Reeve and Gabi bravely experiencing the adventure, along with all of the kids involved when we stopped afterwards for ice cream. - rw
