Pantheon - my favorite buidling in Rome

My favorite building in Rome is the Pantheon. Maybe it is because entrance is free but a better reason is because it is was dedicated about 126 AD in the time of Emperor Hadrian. The Pantheon's dome is still the world's largest un-reinforced concrete dome. The height to the oculus and the diameter of the interior circle are the same, 142 feet. Since it was low tourist season I could walk right in and it was not crowded. The dome is open and there is a center drain in the middle and then 4 other drains around the perimeter of the center floor. The square in front of the Pantheon often has musicians performing. - Nancy
