Day Four - The Genocide Museum & Shopping

Saturday was a day with diverse activities. After breakfast we headed to the Genocide Museum.
It was a very sobering experience. The display with pictures of children who were killed tore at my heart. They were innocent and so vulnerable. The grounds outside the museum is the mass burial site for many of the victims whose remains were found in mass graves.
There is a wall of names similar to the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, DC. I took the picture below of the group leaving the museum.
After a stop for lunch we went to the market. One can get most anything there. Each row sells different things. There was one row of hardware store type of items, one of shoes, several with fabrics, and then there were the stalls with tourist items.
Dave and Debbie Thomas hosted all of us for dinner. The menu was delicious Mexican food. the avocados here are yummy. - ncw
